Nothing’s more important than your child’s education.
Smaller enrollments, more experienced teachers, a better education... Your child can study right next door when you live at the Lakes of Bella Terra and will receive all the benefits of a first-class education.
Two schools have opened their doors just down the street from Lakes of Bella Terra – Westlake Preparatory, a Christian private school, and Hubenak Elementary, part of the esteemed Lamar Consolidated Independent School District – with more schools just minutes away.
By choosing Lakes of Bella Terra, you’re giving your children the best and nurturing their education, discovery and growth. Taking a closer look at each school further supports this assertion:
Westlake Prep
Westlake Prep has been in operation for one year and has already earned a reputation for high academic standards. Their Achievement Test Scores landed Westlake Prep in the 99th percentile of all schools in the U.S. That outstanding record is only heightened when parents consider that the school also offers before and after school childcare, top-notch facilities with all wireless technology, and a Christ-oriented manner of operating. Currently, Westlake Preparatory serves students from Pre-K3 through Grade 5, and plans to add a grade every year through Grade 12. Interested parents can read more and find open house dates at www.WestlakePrep.org.
Hubenak Elementary and Lamar CISD
Hubenak Elementary is an integral part of the Lamar CISD. Seventy-three percent of Lamar’s campuses were ranked in the upper tier or academic performance, with 46% Exemplary and 27% Recognized campuses. Eighteen percent of Lamar CISD teachers hold advanced degrees, and 41.5% of Lamar CISD teachers have more than a decade of experience.
The leadership at Hubenak Elementary is unmatched. Veteran educator Diane Parks leads the school as its principal. Parks has served as a principal for more than a decade, at Austin Elementary from 1997 to 2001, and Ray Elementary from 2001 to 2008.
Under Park’s leadership, Ray earned the No Child Left Behind National Blue Ribbon, the highest honor for any school. She received the 2008 Terrel Bell National Award for School Leadership and was the National Distinguished Principal for Texas in 2007. Raise Your Hand Texas chose her to attend the Harvard Principal Center in the summer of 2008.
Emily Hesterman serves as Hubenak Elementary’s Assistant Principal. Hesterman began her teaching career in Katy ISD at Bear Creek Elementary before moving to McMeans Junior High in 2005. At McMeans, Hesterman led the Language Arts department as chair and successfully created an after school writing and reading program for at-risk students, ultimately improving the school’s commended performance percentage and passing rate on TAKS.
This summer, Lamar CISD earned the top prize in the HEB Grocery annual Excellence in Education Awards program, receiving $100,000 for the honor. With the school district’s outstanding performance record, Hubenak’s exceptional leadership, and the school’s incredibly convenient proximity to the Lakes of Bella Terra, it’s never been easier for parents to give their children the best.
Foster your child’s education, discovery and growth at Lakes of Bella Terra.
