With the recent groundbreaking of Phase I of Westlake Preparatory Lutheran Academy, and scheduled to open January 2009, Lakes of Bella Terra continues its
transformation into West Houston’s most dynamic and multi-faceted destination.
“Schools are such an important consideration for our homebuyers,” said Lisa Clark, Vice President of Ryko Development, Inc., Houston’s 2006 “Developer of the Year”.
“Having a private school of the caliber of Westlake Prep, right next-door and within walking distance of the homes, is a tremendous draw for Lakes of Bella Terra.”
The first phase of Westlake Prep will consist of a 31,000 square foot elementary school that will serve students from pre-school through third grade. A temporary
location opened this August at the Westland Baptist Church located at 1407 W. Grand Parkway S. The permanent location is still under construction and has been r
e-scheduled to open in January 2009. The brand new facility will house classrooms, a state-of-the-art media center and library, gymnasium, administrative offices,
and more.
Situated on 50 acres adjacent to Lakes of Bella Terra, Westlake Prep is the newest school of the Lutheran Education Association of Houston, which has a long histor
of providing exemplary education in the Houston area.
“The Lutheran Education Association of Houston has been in operation since 1949,” explained Glenn D. Gerber, Head of School, Westlake Preparatory Lutheran Academy.
“It also operates Lutheran High North and Lutheran South Academy, which is the closest model for what Westlake Prep will become. Upon its completion, Westlake Prep
will encompass an elementary school, middle school and high school, each of which will be fully licensed and accredited.”
Students of Westlake Prep have a great deal to look forward to, including the very latest facilities, one computer for every student, full sports programs, extr
acurricular activities and dedicated teachers, many of whom have 20 years of experience or more. An especially exciting feature of Phase I is “Before and After
School Care” from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.
“We are thrilled with what the opening of Westlake Prep will mean to Lakes of Bella Terra,” added Clark. “It adds another great layer to the overall experience,
just like the opening of our multi-million dollar Recreation Center did. The Shops of Bella Terra kicked off Phase I with the opening of Kohl’s on April 8th, and
we’re excited to announce that Wal-Mart’s Super Center, is scheduled to open in September.”
Lakes of Bella Terra is an exciting, dynamic place to live, shop, play, learn and grow, all in a family-friendly, resort-setting just minutes from the Westpark
